SELECTION GUIDELINNES Qualified applicants will be subject to extensive screening, which includes: Polygraph, medical exam, psychological testing, and background investigation. United States Citizen over 19 years of age (proof required) High School Graduate or G.E.D

equivalency Pass Basic Motor Skills Test (BMST) for physical agility Pass Polygraph examination Pass psychological screening (Law) Pass an extensive medical evaluation and drug screening Meet current State training requirements as necessary Pass an extensive background investigation Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Must possess ability to exercise discretion Be of good moral character, have no felony convictions, and committed no incidents of violence Military discharge must be honorable Supplemental Information Supplemental Information: Applicants must attach the following documents to be considered. Basic Law Enforcement Academy or Academy acceptance letter Physical Agility (completed within the last six months) Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not be limited to, evaluation of education, training and experience; oral interview(s); background investigation; reference checks; medical evaluation; controlled substance screening. Preference will be given to certain veterans, spouses of veterans, or unmarried widows/widowers of veteran.
