Job description

As a POOLHOUSE Director, you’ll serve as a lead on our political team, which works with Republican candidates, causes, and SuperPACs. You’ll jump headfirst into managing the day-to-day client needs, shepherding strategic initiatives from start to finish, and most importantly, helping our candidates and causes win.

Our ideal candidate is independent, creative, detail-oriented, politically sharp, and ready to learn (while having a bit of fun along the way).

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Scope, define, estimate, and manage projects and timelines for our clients
  • Write, conceptualize, create communications and scripts both independently and collaboratively
  • Serve as day-to-day project lead for assigned client accounts
  • Support the core team in business development functions, including research and pitch opportunities
  • Oversee work from concept to completion by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Foster strong relationships with clients by providing outstanding service and proactive communication
  • Provide clear, sound political guidance and strategic recommendations internally and externally
  • Manage your workflow according to set procedures and timelines, including juggling multiple projects simultaneously and understanding project priorities in the context of agency expectations

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working in political campaigns or political communications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Willingness to learn new things and new ways of doing things
  • Knowledge of the current public and political affairs landscape
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm sense of overall goals
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and solve problems on the fly with a team
  • A commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Able to thrive in uncomfortable and high stakes situations
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to occasionally work long hours, occasional weekends, and travel when necessary
