Job description

The IT Enterprise Solution Architect plays a critical role in enabling Batteries Plus' digital transformation by designing and guiding scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise solutions. As a member of the Enterprise Solution Architecture Center of Excellence, this role partners closely with product, engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to align technology strategy with long-term business goals. The Enterprise Solution Architect blends strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership to drive architectural consistency, platform resiliency, and accelerated delivery across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Design, document, and guide delivery of scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions across enterprise platforms including POS, eCommerce, ERP, CRM, and integration layers

  • Develop and evolve architectural strategies, roadmaps, and standards that support modernization and digital transformation initiatives

  • Define and promote reusable architecture patterns, best practices, and documentation to ensure consistency and quality

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, lead proofs-of-concept, and recommend forward-looking solutions that enable innovation and business growth

  • Translate business strategies into scalable platform capabilities and solution designs

  • Partner with delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle, supporting sprint planning, design reviews, estimations, and troubleshooting

  • Ensure architectural integrity and quality from design through implementation and long-term support

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, product, and development teams to deliver secure, integrated end-to-end solutions

  • Coach and mentor technical teams, promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement

  • Contribute to Architecture Center of Excellence initiatives including application portfolio management, integration modernization, observability, resiliency, and cost optimization

  • Support enterprise AI initiatives by designing architectures for intelligent automation, conversational AI, embedded analytics, and internal copilots

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, sharing insights that advance enterprise architecture maturity

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in solution architecture, application design, and enterprise delivery

  • Strong experience with modern architecture practices including API-first design, microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud-native, and serverless approaches

  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native application development

  • Strong engineering background in .NET technologies and modern frontend frameworks such as Angular or React

  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated delivery practices

  • Proven ability to design scalable, observable, and resilient enterprise systems

  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions in Agile environments

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders

  • Experience with retail, franchise, or enterprise platforms (POS, ERP, CRM, eCommerce, WMS, PIM) preferred

  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks, AI-enabled solutions, or multi-cloud environments is a plus
