STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a Polish Operator Trainee to join the team. This position is responsible for cleaning, deburring, polishing, grit blasting, and/or grinding manufactured parts. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspects parts for defects and material handling damage
  • Scrapes or rubs parts with file, wire brush, or buffing cloth
  • Mounts tools on revolving spindle for abrasive finishing and deburring.
  • Able to change out tooling such as rubberized abrasives and bench grinder abrasive wheels as needed
  • Holds part against deburring / grinding wheel to deburr tube surfaces or grind weld beads Deburrs or polishes parts
  • Operates Dremel with Scotchbrite or abrasive wheel to polish parts
  • Uses Flex-hone (Wire-brush) when indicated on operational instructions
  • Operates hand held Die-Grinder
  • Uses Compressed Air to ensure interior and exterior of parts are blown off after polishing
  • Operate Grit Blast Cabinet
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee must pass the respirator medical evaluation and respirator fit test prior to performing any duties and on an annual basis thereafter.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to wear a respirator on average 8 hours a day.
  • Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed
