Job description

SUMMARY
This is a position that assists the operation in managing the host stand, providing support as a server's assistant, and/or working in the Bakery as a barista. The team members can seamlessly slide between any of the three positions and are willing to be scheduled and help cover any of these roles during their shift, depending on our business levels and PO staffing needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
HOST
1. Will greet and seat guests utilizing the Tock platform.
2. Will hold the door for guests when entering or exiting whenever possible.
3. Will guide guests to the restrooms whenever asked for their location.
4. Will maintain status updates of tables on Tock throughout all services.
5. Will scroll through all upcoming reservations up to a week and add any occasions to the "visit note" and tag their reservation accordingly.
6. Will assist with creating and updating server sections.
7. Can create, modify, reschedule, and cancel reservations.
8. Knows how to refund a guest "Tock Deposit" when needed.
9. It is fully versed on the Tock Platform and can easily navigate the necessary functionalities that apply to hosting.
10. Knows how to add guests to the "walk-in waitlist."
11. Maintains and keeps track of the "walk-in waitlist."
12. Reviews the guests' notes and the seating diagram for correctness and efficiency.
13. Makes management and the server aware whenever a CIP, Sunflower or Houseguest is sat.
14. Demonstrates knowledge of table numbers and position numbers
15. Seats guest in rotation of servers attempting to not double or triple seat servers whenever possible.
16. Able to take to-go orders when needed and enter them into ResortSuite.
17. Has a strong working knowledge of the property and the campus and is able to guide guests or give them directions around town.
18. Demonstrates proper phone etiquette.
BARISTA
1. Prepares and serves beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate.
2. Promotes and recommends menu options to guests.
3. Responsible for order taking and billing guests via the POS, ResortSuite.
4. Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, and stocking to go items.
5. Maintains equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting, and scheduling repairs.
6. Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
SERVER'S ASSISTANT
1. Ability to clear and reset tables in a timely manner.
2. Assists with polishing all glassware and silverware as needed.
3. Redistribute glassware once polished.
4. Create sets and roll ups as needed.
5. Working knowledge of floor plan and position numbers
6. Assists servers with making iced tea, lemonade, coffee, and hot tea.
7. Can brew iced tea and coffee as needed.
8. Create bread baskets to our standard and can deliver them to the table and recite one-liner.
9. Able to walk food to tables, deliver dishes using open-handed service and recite one-liner for each dish.
10. Capable of presenting the Dessert Trolley at a table
11. Able to process a guest payment when/if needed.
12. Check in with the host to see what tables need to reset and to confirm the correct party size.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Excellent communication skills
2. Must be at least 16 years of age.
3. Must be well-groomed and well-presented.
4. Must have reliable transportation.
Desirable
1. Familiarity with Forbes Standards
2. Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French
3. Certification in alcohol awareness program
4. Certification in CPR
SKILLS
1. Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
2. Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
3. Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstation
4. Ability to speak using clear and professional language
5. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
6. Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed
7. Ability to assist guests with questions about the property, its history, and surrounding areas
