Job description

Position Overview: Gender Freedom Society is seeking passionate and dedicated people to serve as a Policy Analysts, focusing on issues affecting the transgender/GNC community. Policy Analysts play a crucial role in advancing our advocacy efforts by raising awareness about transgender rights and promoting policies that support the needs of transgender individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Policy Research: Conduct research on local, national, and international policies affecting the transgender community, including healthcare access, legal rights, employment discrimination, and social services.
  • Legislative Advocacy: Monitor legislative developments related to transgender rights and work to influence policymakers through advocacy meetings, public hearings, and legislative advocacy strategies.
  • Design and implement research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and data analysis
  • Maintain and manage databases, literature reviews, and policy tracking systems
  • Conduct in-depth research on public policy issues using qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Translate complex data and legal/policy language into clear, accessible summaries
  • Develop models, forecasts, or scenario analyses to project policy outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Passion for social justice and a commitment to advancing transgender rights and equality.
  • Strong understanding of issues affecting the transgender community, including healthcare access, legal rights, employment discrimination, and social stigma.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Experience in advocacy, community organizing, or related fields is preferred but not required.
