About the OpportunityKARE CENTER in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our growing healthcare team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will support providers and patients across our urgent care and primary care services, helping deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling to fit your availability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document chief complaints and medical histories in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct point-of-care testing as directed.
  • Administer injections and immunizations per provider orders and within scope of practice.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and stocking of supplies.
  • Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate referrals and follow-ups.
  • Provide patient education and instructions under provider supervision.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in a clinical, urgent care, or primary care setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
