Job description

Marketing Coordinator

HydroJug — Brand Marketing

Location: Ogden, UT (on-site)

Reports to: VP of Marketing

Team: Brand Marketing

ABOUT HYDROJUG

HydroJug built a category and a community around hydration as a daily ritual. Our marketing team is the customer — they know the brands, the gyms, the creators, the moments. That insider fluency is why the work lands. We're expanding into new categories and new consumer segments, and we need that same engine running on the new side of the house.

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

You won't be coordinating launches for a community you study. You'll be coordinating launches for communities you're already part of. Our existing marketing works because the team lives in the world it markets to — same gyms, same feeds, same creators. The new category will only work the same way: with someone whose network is already in the spaces we're entering, who can tell us which podcast just blew up before the rest of the internet catches on, and who knows which brands are doing the most interesting work in lifting, hybrid athletics, run, hunt and outdoor, combat sport, and performance wellness.

This is a coordinator role on purpose. You'll own a compressed version of what a much larger team owns on our established side — seeding and influencer first, brand partnerships second, then events, content, and the rest as the program scales.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN (IN PRIORITY SEQUENCE)

Priority 1 — Product seeding & influencer relationships (first 90 days)

  • Build the PR list for the new category from scratch — tiered by network economy, not follower count.
  • Run all four customization tiers (generic → one-of-one) against the right recipients.
  • Own the seed → follow-up → track → convert workflow for every send. No charitable donations.
  • Open warm channels with creators across our priority spaces: lifting and hybrid, run, outdoor and hunt, combat sport, and performance wellness.

Priority 2 — Brand partnerships (months 3–6)

  • Identify the brand counterparts that fit alongside our existing partnership portfolio in these spaces.
  • Open conversations with the operators (not the agencies) at those brands.
  • Build the institutional seeding lane — gyms, teams, races, schools — where attention concentrates in these communities.

Priority 3 — Events, content, and adjacent motions (months 6+)

  • Stand up the event calendar in coordination with the Events Coordinator.
  • Brief UGC and Social on what reads as native in these spaces — what to do and what not to do.
  • Become the in-house translator: every team that touches the new category comes to you first.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The non-negotiable credential is demonstrated immersion in and access to the communities and culture surrounding the spaces above. That shows up as:

  • An active, real network of creators, athletes, and brand operators in those spaces — the kind where DMs get answered the same day.
  • Lived participation in at least one (ideally more) of our target spaces: lifting, hybrid and HYROX, run, hunt and outdoor, combat sport, or performance wellness.
  • Fluent reads on the brand landscape in these categories — you can name the five brands doing the best work right now and the three about to break.
  • A track record of putting product in the right hands or building programs that earned attention from these communities.

What "experience" looks like is flexible. 2–4 years in influencer, partnerships, brand, or creator-side work is typical. We care more about your network and judgment than your title history.

OPERATING STYLE WE HIRE FOR

  • You run on calendar discipline. A missed send is cheaper than a bad send.
  • You build relationships, not contact lists. The litmus test is whether the recipient stays if a competitor offers 20% more.
  • You customize. Generic PR boxes are the floor we're trying to clear.
  • You track conversion, not volume. Seeds earn relationships, not impressions.
  • You're opinionated and you write it down.
  • WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

VP of Marketing (direct manager), Influencer Manager, Strategic Brand Partnerships, Social, UGC, Events, Retention, Performance Marketing, and the Product team driving the new-category launches.

    HOW YOU'LL BE MEASURED

    • Active PR list size and tier mix in the new category
    • Conversion rate of seeds → ambassador, earned content, or partnership
    • Cost per earned impression in the new category
    • Brand-partner pipeline opened and activated
    • Quality of cross-functional collaboration (named, not surveyed)
