The AV Technical Ops & Production Engineer supports Humana's live events, video production, livestreams, and AV systems. This role serves as a primary technical owner for AV Services production environments, ensuring studios, control rooms, livestream systems, mobile production equipment, and event technologies remain reliable, current, and ready to support critical business communications.
This role is both hands-on and technical. Responsibilities include supporting productions, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, managing inventory, and designing and deploying AV systems for onsite and offsite events.
The person in this role serves as one of the lead technical resources for offsite AV event systems, supporting company meetings, leadership events, conferences, and special productions.
Key Responsibilities
Production and Technical Support
  • Support live events, video production, and livestreams
  • Serve as a primary technical resource and first point of escalation for production system issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV system issues
  • Perform maintenance, upgrades, testing, and installations
  • Maintain operational readiness of studios, control rooms, and mobile event systems
  • Provide backup support for audio, video, and livestream production
  • Partner with IT, facilities, vendors, and event stakeholders on production technology initiatives

Studio and Control Room Support
Serve as lead technician for:
  • Video studios
  • Town Hall control rooms
  • Livestream production spaces
  • Audio recording and podcast spaces

Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment including:
  • Video switchers
  • Cameras and PTZ cameras
  • Audio consoles and DSP systems
  • Intercom systems
  • Streaming and encoding tools
  • Signal routing systems
  • Studio lighting
  • Recording and playback systems
  • Production platforms and software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve
  • Test systems prior to major events and productions

Offsite Event Support
  • Design, build, maintain, and support offsite AV systems, flypacks, and mobile production environments
  • Prepare, transport, install, operate, and recover equipment for events
  • Keep mobile production systems organized, tested, and deployment ready
  • Support redundancy planning and risk mitigation for critical events

Event System Design and Installation
  • Lead technical planning and implementation for meetings, conferences, and special events
  • Design workflows for audio, video, streaming, networking, and presentations
  • Conduct venue assessments and site visits as needed
  • Create equipment lists, signal flow diagrams, and floor plans
  • Lead setup and technical implementation prior to events
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point during setup and event execution

Inventory and Asset Management
  • Own and manage AV production inventory
  • Track equipment utilization, repairs, maintenance, warranties, and replacement needs
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure equipment readiness
  • Manage spare equipment and redundancy planning
  • Recommend equipment replacements, upgrades, standardization opportunities, and technology improvements

  • Experience designing, deploying, operating, and supporting enterprise livestream, broadcast, or event production equipment and systems

Preferred Production experience and certifications:
  • Technical Direction
  • Audio Operation/Mixing
  • Live Camera Operation (PTZ and EFP)
  • Lighting Control Operation & Programming (DMX)
  • Experience managing AV inventory and equipment lifecycle programs
  • Experience supporting mobile production environments and flypack systems
  • CTS or CTS-D, Dante, Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or equivalent technical certifications
  • Broadcast, streaming, or production engineering certifications
  • DMX Training & Certification

Additional Information
  • This role is only open to applicants located in Louisville, Kentucky and will primarily be an in-office position.
  • Travel up to 25% may be required. Travel may include equipment transport, venue assessments, event setup, onsite technical leadership, and production support for meetings, leadership events, conferences, productions, and special events.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$78,400 - $107,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
