Job description

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary Critical Care is seeking a Adult/Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) to join our team.

This full-time position will provide opportunities for patient care on the inpatient interventional pulmonology service for a self-motivated and procedure-proficient candidate with an interest in pleural disease. The ideal candidate will be comfortable practicing with a high degree of autonomy and ready to contribute to a growing interventional pulmonology service.

Key Qualifications (some or all of the following preferred)

  • Previous hands-on clinical experience, including pleural procedures, such as:

    • Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS)

    • Thoracentesis

    • Chest tube placement (including pigtail catheters)

    • Tunneled pleural catheter management and troubleshooting

  • Demonstrated ability to independently assess and manage patients with pulmonary and/or pleural disease.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced inpatient environment with procedural responsibilities

  • Exposure to and/or worked with an interventional pulmonology or thoracic surgery team

Depending on the applicant's experience, responsibilities will include the following:

  1. Evaluate and manage patients with pleural disease on the inpatient interventional pulmonology service

  2. Perform pleural procedures in accordance with credentialing and demonstrated competency

  3. Independently manage procedural consults, follow-ups, and longitudinal patient care

  4. Interact and collaborate with attending physicians, fellows and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

  5. Participate in quality improvement and clinical research initiatives

  6. Assist with other clinical duties as needed within the department, commensurate with the job description and qualifications. This opportunity is not eligible for a Conrad 30 Waiver.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $155,000 - 185,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
