Job description

Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect:
  • Assist in applying basic project management concepts, practices, and procedures to support engineering projects.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of project plans and schedules.
  • Assist in tracking project funding and budgets under supervision.
  • Help maintain and update project demand files with guidance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals.
  • Assist in collecting and reporting metrics to monitor project performance.
  • Gain familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for technical and programmatic events.
  • Support system-level design, integration, build, and test activities as part of a team.
  • Assist in preparing materials for leadership and customer reviews.
  • Contribute to program team efforts by completing assigned tasks on time.
  • Provide support for bid preparation and proposal efforts as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating and tracking problem reports for prioritization and resolution.
  • Support change processing metrics by tracking and reporting on progress.
  • Assist in evaluating and disseminating customer feedback for action.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements under mentorship.
  • Gain experience with Teamcenter and other relevant tools.
  • Support risk management activities by identifying and documenting potential risks.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Department of Defense or similar industry highly desired
  • Certified PMP Preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead meetings and work with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in design, development of complex systems
  • Ability to assess technical risk
  • Must have analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Windows XP and Microsoft Office with adequate computer skills to manage the development of presentations and other methods of media display
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent business acumen and negotiating skills
  • Ability to travel as needed as some traveling may be required
