Job description

OVERVIEW
The EPM / PMO Consultant is responsible for evaluating and improving Enterprise Program Management (EPM) and Project Management Office (PMO) capabilities across the organization.
This role focuses on assessing current project management practices, identifying opportunities for process improvement, developing standardized methodologies, strengthening governance frameworks, supporting technology enablement, and coaching internal teams to ensure long-term project management success. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong project management expertise and the ability to drive organizational improvements through effective PMO consulting.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluate current PMO processes and project execution methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate existing project management practices and identify gaps requiring organizational improvement.
  • Diagnose areas where projects stall or accountability breaks down and recommend solutions to improve project execution.
  • Ensure project portfolios align with executive priorities and organizational goals.
  • Develop standardized project management methodologies, reporting templates, and best practices to improve consistency across the project portfolio.
  • Design governance frameworks that support project prioritization, decision-making, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Support the selection and implementation of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software and analytical tools to improve project visibility.
  • Lead change management initiatives by training internal teams on new project management processes.
  • Mentor and coach project managers and internal teams to promote long-term adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Foster continuous improvement of PMO practices to strengthen project delivery and organizational effectiveness.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong understanding of Project Management Office (PMO) principles and project execution methodologies.
  • Experience evaluating project management practices and identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to assess organizational gaps and recommend strategic improvements.
  • Knowledge of project governance, prioritization, risk management, and resource allocation practices.
  • Experience developing standardized project management methodologies and reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software and analytical tools, including Microsoft Project, Jira, or Power BI.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coaching abilities with experience training and mentoring project teams.
  • Ability to support organizational change and promote adoption of new project management processes.

IMPORTANT DETAILS
  • Salary range $105,000-$120,000
  • This is a 12 month contract with potential to be permanent
  • This role does not support a work sponsorship therefore candidates MUST be eligible to work in the US
