Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, PMO, the Project Manager is responsible to successfully implement global or regional projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages large, cross-functional projects involving multiple business functions, GIS teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Leads all phases of projects in accordance with the Apotex project management methodology using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery approaches.
  • Produces project management deliverables including charters, plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, financial reports, closure reports, and operational handover documentation.
  • Collaborates with sponsors, business leads, BRMs, SMEs, architects, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and expected outcomes.
  • Establishes project governance and ensures compliance with PMO standards, stage-gate requirements, project controls, and audit requirements.
  • Communicates project status, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and recommendations to sponsors, steering committees, and leadership.
  • Leads project teams of GIS professionals, business representatives, vendors, and contractors to achieve objectives and drive collaboration and accountability.
  • Manages project budgets, forecasts, accruals, and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with approved funding and analyzing variances and risks.
  • Develops and maintains integrated project schedules, including resource assignments, dependencies, milestones, critical path activities, and forecasting.
  • Develops resource plans, identifies capacity constraints, and works with functional leaders to secure project resources.
  • Identifies and manages project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints, implementing mitigation strategies with stakeholders.
  • Manages project scope and change through established governance and change control processes.
  • Monitors project execution to ensure deliverables meet defined requirements, quality standards, regulatory requirements, security requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Coordinates change management, communications, training, and business readiness activities to support successful implementation and adoption.
  • Ensures operational readiness and transition to support teams, including knowledge transfer, support documentation, service management processes, monitoring, backup and recovery, and support model definition.
  • Facilitates decision-making, escalates issues as required, and ensures accountability for project actions and decisions.
  • Performs project closure activities including lessons learned, retrospectives, financial closeout, acceptance, and transition of ownership.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of PMO governance, methodologies, tools, templates, and practices.
  • Works safely and collaboratively to achieve team objectives.

Job Requirements

Education

  • University or Community College degree in in Information Systems or Business Administration or equivalent business experience
  • PMP Certification
  • Scrum designation an asset;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Superior knowledge of the key principles of Project Management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid.
  • Experience in leading and influencing the activities and interaction of project team members and stakeholders on technology projects.
  • Excellent conflict management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively time manage responsibilities.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

.Experience

  • 5-7 years Project Management experience leading large and complex projects, post PMP certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical/Process Industry, Consumer Packaged Goods, or Information Systems preferred.
