What is plumbing starting?

Plumbing starting refers to the initial phase of plumbing work in a construction or renovation project. This stage involves laying out and installing the basic supply and waste lines before walls and floors are finished. Proper plumbing starting helps prevent future leaks, blockages, and costly repairs. Professional plumbers typically handle this stage to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

Job description

WE'RE HIRING

Plumbing Install Lead

Do you take pride in doing the job right, even when no one's watching? Tony's Plumbing, Heating & Air is looking for a Plumbing Install Lead who leads with integrity, works hard because it matters, and takes ownership of every project like it's their own name on the invoice. This role isn't for someone chasing a paycheck — it's for someone chasing craftsmanship, and who wants to do it on a team built on trust.

We offer stable, hourly, non-commission pay so your paycheck is never at odds with doing right by the customer. If you're honest, dependable, hard-working, and want to grow with a company that genuinely invests in its people, we want to meet you.

WHY TONY'S

  • Full benefits package — Medical, Dental, Vision.
  • Company-sponsored $25,000 Life Insurance plan.
  • 401(k) with 4% matching to help you plan for the future.
  • Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays starting Day 1.
  • Paid Training and Development Opportunities.
  • Take-Home Work Truck.
  • Amazing team environment and culture — built on honesty, respect, and accountability.
  • Real opportunities to grow and expand your role.
  • No commission pressure — just fair pay for honest, quality work.

WHO WE ARE

Since 1994, Tony's Plumbing, Heating & Air has built its reputation on doing things the right way — standing by our work, supporting our team, and delivering an honest, outstanding customer experience. We ask a lot of our people, and we give a lot back. Our team is built on trust, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence — an environment that's professional, growth-minded, and genuinely good to be part of.

OUR CORE VALUES

Master Your Craft — Good enough isn't the goal. Exceptional is.

Earn the Win — Follow through and finish strong. Results come from discipline and consistency.

Stronger Together — Communication, accountability, and stepping in when it matters.

Be Gritty — Adapt. Stay sharp. Push through.

Leave It Better — Serve the 209 and elevate our community.

If these values sound like how you already live and work, you'll fit right in.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead and manage residential plumbing installation projects including repipes, sewer systems, and tankless water heater installations.
  • Supervise and mentor installation crews with honesty and fairness, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and up to code.
  • Perform hands-on plumbing work, inspections, troubleshooting, and quality control — and hold yourself accountable to the same high standard every time.
  • Conduct site assessments and determine proper layouts and installation plans.
  • Communicate honestly and clearly with homeowners and team members throughout each project.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site.
  • Order and coordinate materials, tools, and equipment needed for installations.
  • Excavate and prepare trenches for sewer line installations while maintaining proper slope and alignment.
  • Install sewer pipes, fittings, fixtures, cleanouts, and access points according to local code requirements.
  • Connect plumbing systems to fixtures including sinks, toilets, showers, and drains while ensuring proper venting and sealing.
  • Utilize cameras and diagnostic equipment to inspect sewer systems and identify issues.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain compliance with OSHA and local safety standards.
  • Ensure all work reflects the company's standards for craftsmanship, integrity, and customer satisfaction.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Skills we need:

  • Four (4)+ years of plumbing installation experience preferred.
  • Experience with repipes, sewer systems, tankless water heaters, and residential plumbing installs preferred.
  • Leadership experience managing crews and projects in the field.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, installation practices, and safety standards.

Character we value even more:

  • Honesty and integrity — you do the right thing even when it costs you something, and you own your mistakes.
  • A strong work ethic — you show up, put in the effort, and finish what you start.
  • Reliability and accountability — your word means something, and your team can count on you.
  • A genuine team-first attitude — you'd rather see the crew succeed than take credit alone.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.

This is a great opportunity to join a trusted company with a strong reputation, steady work, and a culture worth being proud of. If you're hard-working, honest, and ready to lead with integrity — apply today.
