Lead Plumbing Service Technician

Location: Alpharetta, GA
Pay: $30–$40/hour + Commissions, Bonuses, and Additional Employer-Paid Benefits

About the Opportunity

A growing residential plumbing company in the Alpharetta area is seeking an experienced Lead Plumbing Service Technician to join its team. This role is ideal for a skilled plumber who enjoys diagnosing and repairing plumbing systems, building lasting customer relationships, and contributing to a company that values professionalism, teamwork, and career growth.

The ideal candidate has experience independently managing a service truck, providing exceptional customer service, and identifying repair, maintenance, and replacement opportunities while delivering honest recommendations homeowners can trust.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, service, and maintain residential plumbing systems.

  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues, identify root causes, and provide effective solutions.

  • Perform routine maintenance and plumbing inspections.

  • Repair and replace water heaters, fixtures, faucets, toilets, disposals, and other plumbing components.

  • Diagnose and repair leaks, drain issues, water lines, sewer lines, and gas piping as applicable.

  • Educate customers on repair, replacement, and preventative maintenance options.

  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades and plumbing replacements when appropriate.

  • Document work performed, equipment information, and customer recommendations.

  • Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work area.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and team members.

  • Participate in ongoing training and assist with mentoring junior technicians as needed.

  • Respond to emergency service calls as required.

Equipment & System Experience Preferred
  • Tank and tankless water heaters

  • Water filtration and water softening systems

  • Drain cleaning equipment

  • Sewer and water service lines

  • Toilets, faucets, fixtures, and garbage disposals

  • Sump pumps and sewage ejector pumps

  • Gas piping

  • Leak detection equipment

  • Camera inspection equipment

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of residential plumbing service experience preferred.

  • Experience independently managing a service truck.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate repair and replacement options to homeowners.

  • Applicable state or local plumbing license preferred.

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.

  • Ability to work in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and confined spaces.

  • Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the day.

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions when necessary.
