Job description

Join the Total Appliance Team! We are looking for a plumber to add to our team of experienced residential plumbers. Plumbers will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and communicating with customers. We are looking for plumbers of all skill levels, from apprentices to ready-to-go plumbers. New to the trade, we'll teach you, already a plumber, we'll put you right in a route!
Description Completes any assigned service calls, or repairs, or installations in a timely manner. Collects payment when assigned.  Presents options and pricing to customers as authorized.
Hours & Working Conditions (as designated) 
  • Average 40 hours per week (typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays and/or weekends as scheduled) 
  • Overtime as required -On call over weekends as required 
  • May work outside, in crawlspaces, closets, and attics 
  • Work with sheet metal and sharp objects -Lifting and physical exertion required 
  • 10-12 Service Calls Per Day
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Troubleshoot equipment and related job problems 
  • Present findings and options to customers, providing advise as needed/requested
  • Complete approved repairs, improvements, or installations within industry standard hours per repair pricing guide ·        Clean equipment/work area -Ensure complete customer satisfaction upon completion
  • Complete all paperwork required by management— be punctual and reliable
  • Collect for work performed if required: documents, payment, or signatures 
  • Maintain truck inventory -Keep assigned service vehicle organized and clean 
  • Track vehicle maintenance and alert management when maintenance is necessary 
  • Contact the office following the completion of each call, providing requested information regarding the work completed, and receiving dispatch instructions for the next call 
  • Provide customers with information and pricing on service agreements, accessories, and other comfort improvements 
  • Provide customers with information on new equipment when repairs exceed specified amount and/or existing equipment exceeds 10 years of age 
  • Perform equipment installations and /or maintenance work if needed 
  • Identify and suggest opportunities for quality and cost improvements
  • Other duties as needed 
 
Job Requirements: 
  • High School diploma or equivalent Key-Competencies Preferred 
  • Must have a professional demeanor, highly motivated 
  • Possess strong troubleshooting, repair’s ability and critical thinking skills 
  • Ability to push, pull, lift and carry 50LBS capacity 
  • A valid driver’s license with good driving record as required by the company insurance carrier(s) 
  • Ability to Drive, walk, go up and down stairs, bend, reach, crawl in small places 
  • Ability to assist with troubleshooting and repairs, or service, or installations with the quality of excellence required 
  • Previous Four (4) years’ experience in plumbing, maintenance, or another related field 
  • Ability to follow company processes instructions, directions, policies and procedures.
