Job description

Residential Remodeling & Maintenance Technician

A growing local real estate company is looking for a hands-on Residential Remodeling & Maintenance Technician to join its team. This role is ideal for someone with strong general trades experience in residential construction, property maintenance, home remodeling, rental property turns, light rehab, and repair work.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can work independently and confidently handle a wide range of residential projects, including trim, cabinets, doors, windows, painting, drywall/plaster repair, light plumbing, water heaters, light electrical, subfloor/flooring prep, finish carpentry, and general repairs.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Assist with residential rehab, remodeling, and repair projects on vacant homes and rental properties.

  • Remove and replace windows as needed.

  • Remove and install cabinets, doors, trim, baseboards, and finish carpentry.

  • Replace or assist with water heater installation, as allowed by code/licensing requirements.

  • Perform light plumbing repairs and fixture replacements.

  • Perform light electrical work, such as outlets, switches, fixtures, and basic troubleshooting within code requirements.

  • Paint interiors and assist with painting as needed.

  • Patch, repair, and finish drywall and plaster.

  • Install subfloor and assist with flooring prep or flooring-related repairs.

  • Coordinate with flooring installers, siding contractors, roofers, vendors, and other trades when needed.

  • Complete general property maintenance, light rehab, and residential repair projects.

  • Troubleshoot issues and determine practical repair solutions.

  • Help manage work needed to get homes ready for sale or occupancy.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, contractors, and vendors.

What Weโ€™re Looking For:

  • Strong hands-on experience in residential construction, remodeling, maintenance, property turns, or a similar skilled trades role.

  • Ability to work across multiple trades, including carpentry, drywall/plaster, painting, light plumbing, light electrical, windows, doors, trim, cabinets, and general repairs.

  • Experience completing repairs in vacant homes, rental properties, flips, or residential construction settings.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to assess what needs to be done and keep projects moving.

  • Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment.

  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and perform physical work throughout the day.

Preferred Experience:

  • Property maintenance, residential remodeling, home flipping, or construction experience.

  • Finish carpentry experience.

  • Cabinet, door, trim, and window replacement experience.

  • Drywall and plaster repair experience.

  • Light plumbing, water heater, or light electrical experience.

  • Experience working on both occupied and vacant residential properties.

  • Ability to coordinate small projects and communicate with contractors or vendors.

Benefits:

  • Health insurance.

  • Paid time off.

Why This Role Could Be a Great Fit:

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety, and problem-solving. You will not be stuck doing the same task every day. The role offers steady work, a wide range of residential projects, and the opportunity to be part of a company that values skilled, dependable people who take pride in doing things the right way.
