Job Titles: Master and Journeyman Plumber

Hourly Range: $28 - $48/hour (based on experience and licensing)
Reports to: Director of MEP
Silver Maple is seeking talented Master and Journeyman Plumbers to join our expanding Mechanical Division. These roles combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and high-level customer service to execute complex, cutting-edge residential HVAC and plumbing systems. Working closely with architects, designers, and project managers, our plumbers install, repair, and maintain mechanical systems on new builds, remodels, and renovations. The Master Plumber serves as a senior technical resource across the division, while the Journeyman Plumber brings strong hands-on execution alongside growing leadership skills. Both positions are integral to delivering quality mechanical work on time and within budget, meeting the highest safety and quality standards. Candidates with demonstrated experience in finding creative solutions to the inevitable challenges that arise in residential mechanical projects will be prioritized.
The Job:
  • System Design and Plan Review: Work with architects and designers on new builds, remodels, and renovations, including reviewing plumbing and mechanical plans for feasibility. Provide expert guidance on system design, material selection, and code-compliant installation approaches.
  • Installation and Execution: Manage, supervise, and conduct installations of water supply and distribution systems, including piping, valves, fixtures, and outlets. Install systems according to blueprints, drawings, specifications, and all applicable codes. Partner with project managers and lead carpenters to ensure the harmonious and expeditious completion of projects
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform repairs, replacements, testing, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems and components. Respond quickly to emergencies and summon additional assistance as needed. Perform general maintenance and building system operational duties as assigned
  • Collaboration and Mentorship: Assist other department staff members or contractors with projects or equipment installations that require plumbing expertise. Act as a resource and train other staff members to perform light plumbing maintenance and repair in a compliant and safe manner.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate versatility and creativity in crafting mechanical systems that meet project requirements, client expectations, and code standards
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed to project sites for installations, service calls, and site assessments

Preferred Skills:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades
  • Valid Journeyman and/or Master Plumbing License
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Comprehensive understanding of plumbing codes, permit requirements, and inspection processes
  • Expert ability to read, interpret, and work from architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Adept with tools, metals, machines, and modern plumbing technologies
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems and develop effective solutions
  • Basic computer and software skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more with assistance, work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying physical conditions.
