Job description

Plumbing Technician โ€” Charlotte, NC

Price Brothers Inc. is hiring full-time Plumbing Technicians for our Charlotte operations. We have two Charlotte shop locations: South Charlotte in the Steele Creek area and North Charlotte in the Northlake area. Employees may report to or be assigned through either location based on business needs, job-site coverage, and proximity.

Plumbing and construction experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train dependable individuals who want to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in residential plumbing.

This position supports new residential construction and may involve slab, rough-in, trim, and service work. Plumbing Technicians install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems under the direction of a Phase Manager or Plumbing Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Install plumbing systems in new residential properties, including pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, fixtures, and related plumbing materials

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing components using hand and power tools

  • Assist with slab, rough-in, trim, and service plumbing work as assigned

  • Identify plumbing defects, troubleshoot problems, and assist with repairs

  • Test plumbing systems and help document job progress and completion

  • Load, unload, carry, haul, and hoist tools and materials

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas

  • Safely operate plumbing tools and equipment, including pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, PEX crimpers, drills, saws, hammers, and related equipment

  • Learn and follow applicable state and local plumbing codes, job specifications, and manufacturer instructions

  • Safely operate company vehicles and equipment in accordance with company policies

  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, builders, and other trades

  • Attend required company meetings, training sessions, and safety events

  • Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures, OSHA requirements, and job-site safety practices

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Plumbing, plumbing apprentice, or construction experience is preferred but not required

  • Willingness to learn residential plumbing systems and techniques

  • Strong work ethic, honesty, dependability, and attention to detail

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently with limited supervision as experience increases

  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and other trades

  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools

  • Ability to read and complete basic job-related forms, reports, and documentation

  • Valid driverโ€™s license and an acceptable driving record are preferred

  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including a drug test

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position performed in active residential construction environments. Employees must be able to:

  • Regularly stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, reach, twist, push, and pull

  • Work in confined or tight spaces

  • Climb ladders and carry materials up and down stairs

  • Work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, wet, or otherwise adverse weather conditions

  • Perform hand digging and other physically demanding construction tasks

  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move heavier materials with assistance

  • Safely grip, handle, and operate plumbing tools and power equipment

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance

  • Meet established safety, quality, and productivity standards
