The Role: Data Center Sr. MEP Field Manager

As a Data Center Senior MEP Field Manager, you will provide operational leadership for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection construction across multiple data center projects or a major campus. You will lead a team of MEP Field Managers, establish consistent field execution standards, and partner with Construction, Design, Operations, Safety, QA/QC, and Commissioning leaders to deliver safe, high-quality projects. This role is accountable for developing field leadership, improving operational performance, and ensuring consistent project delivery from installation through turnover.

What Youll Do
  • Provide operational leadership for MEP construction across multiple data center projects or a major campus.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor MEP Field Managers and other field leaders.
  • Establish field execution standards that improve safety, quality, schedule performance, and commissioning readiness.
  • Partner with Design, Construction, Operations, Procurement, Safety, QA/QC, Controls, and Commissioning teams to align project execution strategies.
  • Drive consistency in MEP installation, testing, startup, commissioning, turnover, and closeout across all assigned projects.
  • Allocate field leadership resources based on project priorities, business needs, and organizational goals.
  • Review portfolio performance and implement corrective actions to improve delivery across multiple projects.
  • Lead resolution of complex technical, construction, and operational issues that affect multiple projects.
  • Oversee implementation of MEP quality standards and ensure compliance with applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and Switch standards.
  • Develop and improve construction processes, field procedures, reporting standards, and commissioning readiness practices.
  • Identify organizational risks and develop mitigation strategies before they impact business objectives.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on safety, schedule, quality, staffing, operational readiness, and project risks.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Youll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent education and field experience.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible experience managing MEP construction on large commercial or mission-critical projects.
  • 5+ years leading managers, supervisors, or multiple field leadership teams.
  • Experience overseeing multiple large-scale construction projects or campus-level construction programs.
  • Demonstrated success developing leaders, improving operational performance, and driving organizational consistency.
  • Expert knowledge of mission-critical mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, testing, commissioning, and turnover processes.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, industry standards, and mission-critical construction practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, CxAlloy, and SharePoint.

Preferred

  • Data center or other mission-critical construction leadership experience.
  • Professional Engineering license or construction management certification.
  • Commissioning, safety, or trade certifications.
