Job Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Technician or Facilities Manager in ensuring that buildings, equipment, and grounds remain safe, clean, and fully operational. This role performs routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and responds to service requests in a timely, professional manner. The position may also assist with the maintenance and minor mechanical repairs of company vehicles, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, patching walls, and tightening fixtures.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical components, building systems, and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform or assist with routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor mechanical repairs on company vehicles, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Support larger repair projects by preparing tools, materials, and work areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, maintenance equipment, and storage areas.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from staff, tenants, or customers.
