Our systems are software-driven, hardware-agnostic, and have already picked over 15 million goods in production. And did we mention we're customer-obsessed? Every decision, large and small, is driven by one question - how can we empower our customers with robots to do more than they thought was possible?
Dexterity is one of the fastest growing companies in robotics, backed by world-class investors such as Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Obvious Ventures. We're a diverse and multidisciplinary team with a culture built on passion, trust, and dedication. Come join Dexterity and help make intelligent robots a reality!
We are seeking a motivated, experienced individual to fill the role of Manufacturing Engineer, Document Control.
In this role, you will manage all aspects of Engineering Change Order (ECO) and Bill of Material (BOM) management, ensuring that these critical documents are accurate, up-to-date, and complete. This includes creating, updating, and maintaining BOMs, coordinating configuration management processes, and managing BOM changes through rigorous change control. Your close collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams will enable you to verify component availability and specifications, along with recommending cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our product information management systems and successfully bring products to volume manufacturing and meet market demands.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of product data, including 3D models, 2D drawings, part numbering, BOM, electrical schematics, and documentation.
  • Oversee the generation and release of Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) support documentation into consumable packages for downstream internal customers, and maintain the integrity of Dexterity's Teamcenter PLM system.
  • Create Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) through collaboration with our Engineering teams.
  • Publish ECO information and reports in order to notify all relevant parties of the upcoming and completed changes.
  • Continuously update the release and change management processes (and other PLM activities) to ensure tasks are performed efficiently.
  • Support, when identified, the configuration of PLM and ERP system integration.
  • Provide input and feedback on Obsolescence Management including forecasting, engineering solutions, last time buy management, and coordination with supply chain and field support engineers.
  • Contribute to product build documentation, including Operations Methods Sheet (OMS) creation and redlines.

Desired Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Manufacturing and NPI documentation.
  • Proven experience with the Teamcenter PLM system.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLM/BOM principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and switch contexts while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Continuous improvement oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • CAD system experience is a plus.
