POSITION SUMMARY
Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a full-time AI Adoption intern for Sony's Global Security Incident Response Team (GSIRT). Your role will be on the Strategy team, but you will be a collaborator across all GSIRT's global teams.
The CISD summer internship program is designed to provide skills, knowledge, and hands-on work experience in the information security and privacy industry, supporting the personal growth of our interns as well as Sony business results.
This 12-week summer internship runs from June through August and offers flexibility to work either hybrid or fully remote.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of AI security controls, technical standards, and detection content aligned to industry frameworks (MITRE ATLAS, OWASP, NIST AI RMF).
  • Evaluate commercial and open-source AI security tooling against defined technical and operational criteria, producing comparative assessments.
  • Develop behavioral baseline methodologies for AI agents to enable anomaly detection and support security operations.

  • Honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, applied mathematics, or equivalent.

  • Experience or coursework in generative Artificial Intelligence.

  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to collaborate constructively with a global workforce

  • Academic or professional experience identifying skills, identifying training and skills required for information security functions to develop expertise in AI.

  • Familiarity with O365, Jira, and Splunk.

The hourly rate for this internship depends on education level: $24.00 per hour for undergraduate candidates and $25.00-$27.00 per hour for graduate candidates. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
