Position Summary

Provide exceptional privateand group instructionin tennis andpickleball for OnionCreek Club membersand their guests.Work alongside theDirector of Racquetsto develop innovativeclinics, leagues, tournaments, and social eventsthat encourage participationand memberengagement. The successfulcandidate will bringenthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuinedesire to builda loyalfollowing of studentswhile contributing toa first-classracquets program

Essential Duties

Teaching & Player Development

  • Teach private andgroup tennis lessonsfor adults andjuniors.
  • Conduct tennis clinics, team practices, cardiotennis, and specialtyprograms.
  • Teach private andgroup pickleball lessonsand clinics forall skill levels.
  • Build and maintaina strong personallesson book throughoutstanding instructionandmember engagement.
  • Support the JuniorRacquets Program throughclinics, camps, matchpreparation, and playerdevelopment.
  • Assist with playerevaluations and helpmembers identify appropriateleagues and programming.

Member Programming & Events

  • Assist in planningand executingmember tournaments, leagues, mixers, round robins, and social events.
  • Encourage participationin both tennisand pickleball throughcreativeprogramming and exceptionalservice.
  • Observe league matchesand provide coachingand feedback duringpractices and clinics.
  • Foster an inclusive, welcoming environmentthatpromotes long-termmember participation.

Department Operations

  • Assist with thedaily operation ofthe Racquets Department.
  • Help maintain courts, teaching equipment, andoverall facility presentation.
  • Provide racquet stringingservices as needed(orwillingness to learn).
  • Contribute content formember communications,newsletters, and socialmedia.
  • Support merchandising, specialevents, and otherdepartmental initiativesas assigned.

Position Expectations

  • Build Clientele to a Full-time position(minimum 32 hoursper week)
  • Minimum 25 on-court instructional hoursweekly
  • Administrative responsibilities(6-8 hoursper week)
  • Evening, weekend, andholiday availabilityrequired Occasional local travelfor league andclub events
  • Ability to lift20-50 pounds

Qualifications

  • Minimum two yearsof racquetsindustry experience
  • Strong tennis teachingbackground; pickleballteaching experience preferred
  • RSPA (formerly USPTA) or PTRProfessional Certificationrequired
  • Pickleball certificationpreferred
  • USTA Safe Playcertificationrequired
  • Tennis playing levelof 4.5+ NTRPpreferred
  • Pickleball playing levelof 4.0+ DUPRpreferred
  • Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills
