The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing the school's Boys' program in a positive, organized, and professional manner. This position oversees player development, practice planning, game preparation, team expectations, and communication with athletes, families, staff, and administration.

The Head Coach promotes teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, academic responsibility, and school pride. Duties include supervising assistant coaches, ensuring student-athlete safety, following school and athletic policies, maintaining equipment, organizing practices and games, and building a program that reflects the values of the school and community.

Job Goal:
To lead a successful athletic program that helps each participating student develop high-level skills, discipline, sportsmanship, and self-esteem while promoting character and teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Coach individual athletes in the skills necessary for high-level performance, consistent with district-adopted character standards
    Actively supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, locker room use, and overnight stays
    Promote respect, dignity, and positive values among team members toward themselves, their teammates, and opponents
    Plan and implement a regular in-season practice schedule
    Coordinate with the Athletic Director to schedule interscholastic competitions
    Provide input and recommendations regarding athletic schedules, tournaments, and events
    Recommend the purchase of uniforms, equipment, and supplies as needed
    Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of all sport-specific equipment and uniforms
    Complete and submit required paperwork, including attendance, insurance, and accident reports
    Supervise and collaborate with assistant coaches to ensure effective team management
    Monitor and ensure safe conditions for all athletic activities and facilities used
    Establish eligibility requirements and performance criteria in alignment with the student handbook and enforce "No Pass/No Play" policies
    Enforce sportsmanship, team discipline, and behavioral expectations, applying appropriate consequences in accordance with the athletic code of conduct
    Determine which athletes are eligible for end-of-season awards and recognitions
    Serve as a role model of professionalism and integrity for all student-athletes
    Adhere to all Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) rules and regulations
    Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or administration
