General Description (Purpose and Function): The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics, has a position as Research Assistant Professor.
The Research Assistant Professor will manage research projects related to restoring functional ability and enhancing the quality of life for children with physical impairment or disabilities.
The Research Assistant Professor may lecture or conduct demonstrations and teach across UM schools. The Assistant Professor will partner and collaborate with other departments facilities throughout UM, to advance research, knowledge, training, and education.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with multidisciplinary and research in teaching and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to work efficiently and independently as part of a collaborative group.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Appointees are expected to have national recognition in their field as evidenced by publications in quality journals and some evidence of leadership as denoted by the first or lead authorship in some of these publications.
  • Appointees are also expected to have presented research accomplishments at national meetings.
  • Appointees will support research activities at the University.
  • Appointees may be required to supervise Research employees and/or nonexempt staff.
  • Appointees will play leadership role in basic and applied research activities and are expected to author, scientific publications, technical and agency reports, or patient applications independently or in collaborations.
