Job description

You will serve in a tactically critical role within Engineering, working side by side with multi-disciplinary teams both inside and outside of Engineering at the direction of the Platform Engineering leadership.
You will be responsible for executing INDGs strategic roadmap, as well as maintaining and improving Engineering service levels by managing staff, researching and implementing best practices related to various technologies and managing professional services engagements that support Engineering Operations. You will also provide direction and oversight of day-to-day team operations (including direct management of INDG Technical Leads, Individual Contributors and contingent workers) and be an integral contributor to Platform Engineering strategic roadmaps.What you will do:
  • Increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic and tactical plans for implementing and operationalizing various technologies and methodologies.

  • Participate in the creation and drives the implementation of the overall Engineering vision and goals by supporting and inspiring team members to jointly achieve them.

  • Manage staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching and providing regular feedback.

  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.

  • Recommend information technology strategies, policies and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes; identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements.

  • Maintain and improve quality service by establishing and reinforcing organizational standards.

  • Perform in-depth research to reveal new and better methods of handling functions within the department.

  • Serve as Technical Escalation point for those technologies where a more advanced skillset is required.

  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

You need to have:
  • Subject matter expertise in areas such as Public Cloud services, Data Center Operations, Infrastructure Operations, DevSecOps, SRE and other relevant technologies.

  • Highly pitched critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience creating and managing operating budgets.

  • Proven track record of process evaluation/improvement, staff development and ability to meet rigid SLA's.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 8 years' relevant technology experience as an Administrator, Engineer or Architect.

  • 3 years' people management experience in a technology discipline.
