  • Needs to have experience with actual metrics, maturity levels , a product perspective for metrics around Agile, the Team, etc.
  • Product Team Empowerment
  • Client will ask the candidates to tell him how they have worked with AI; Co-Pilot, Agenta, GitHub, UI. Client wants this person to be able to really explain how they have used AI already.
  • This person will be responsible for over 100 people,
  • Also, this person MUST HAVE experience managing an Offshore team that reports into them

The Enterprise Platform Development Director is responsible for leading the strategy, design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise platforms that support the ABS business objectives. This role oversees cross-functional development teams, collaborates with platform architecture, and ensures the alignment of technology solutions with business goals. The Director will drive innovation, ensure best practices in software development, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Minimum years of Experience
  • 15+ years of experience in software development, with at least 7 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience architecting and delivering large-scale enterprise cloud native platforms (cloud, SaaS, or on-premises).
  • Strong knowledge of modern development frameworks, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, microservices, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Product Development Teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Job Duties/Roles
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the enterprise platform roadmap in alignment with ABS business strategy and digital transformation initiatives.
    • Act as a thought leader and transformation agent across business and IT teams to bring AI, automation, and engineering innovation into the core of enterprise capabilities.
    • Partner closely with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber, Data Governance, and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to standards and policies.
    • Define and continuously evolve the strategic roadmap for enterprise engineering practices-focused on resiliency, automation, observability, and intelligent delivery pipelines.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing development teams
    • Drive adoption of AI-enabled software development practices, including generative AI for code generation, test script generation, defect prediction, and documentation to increase engineering productivity and reduce cycle times.
    • Lead DevSecOps maturity across engineering teams to support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), and secure development at scale
    • Manage global resource pools effectively, leveraging Global In-House Centers (e.g., Pune) and strategic partners to ensure talent scalability, productivity, and optimal delivery
    • Develop and mentor a high-performing global technology team, ensuring skill development, succession planning, and retention across regions
  • Project Delivery:
    • Ensure timely and quality delivery of platform features and enhancements, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.
    • Leverage global delivery models and development centers, with clear performance KPIs, intake models, and skillset alignment to business demand for this area.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Partner with business leaders, product managers, and IT to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Technology Governance:
    • Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and governance for code quality, security, and compliance.
    • Provide strong financial oversight of the enterprise applications portfolio including multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets, forecast accuracy, and total cost of ownership optimization
  • Innovation:
    • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners as needed.
    • Lead vendor governance for enterprise platforms and services, ensuring performance, compliance, and alignment with enterprise standards and SLAs.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to platform performance, security, and scalability.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)
  1. Requires prior responsibility for twenty or more professionals including offshore resources.
  2. Requires prior experience with commercial/revenue generating Product Development on a global platform.
  3. Requires prior experience with financial analysis, budgeting and reporting for capital projects and operations expenses.
  4. Clarity and conciseness in oral and written communications; demonstrated capability to produce effective presentations for delivery to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills to achieve process changes and departmental goals within a matrix organization; ability to communicate and work well with others at all levels of the corporation.
