Job description

Job Title: Senior Collaboration Platform Designer Location: Washington, DC Type: Contract $43.46 per hour Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0 hours/week Security Clearance: Active public trust and/or DOT onboarded is a strong plus

Overview We're seeking a Senior Microsoft 365/SharePoint Engineer with strong experience supporting SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and the Power Platform in an enterprise environment. This role will focus on administration, governance, migrations, automation, troubleshooting, and building Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards. Experience with PowerShell, Microsoft 365 security, and SharePoint migrations is essential, while an Active Public Trust is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support and administer SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft 365 Groups, managing site collections, Teams, channels, permissions, and sharing using least-privilege principles
  • Configure and maintain collaboration governance including external sharing, retention, sensitivity labels, and lifecycle policies
  • Monitor platform health, service health, and adoption reports via Microsoft 365 admin centers and usage analytics
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve problems to meet SLA
  • Support multiple environments across development, test, and production tenants
  • Design, build, and maintain business solutions using Power Apps, Dataverse, and SharePoint lists
  • Automate workflows and processes with Power Automate flows (cloud and desktop/RPA), including approvals and event-driven workflows
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for operational and SLA reporting
  • Lead migration initiatives, including on-premises SharePoint (2010/2013/2016) to SharePoint Online, and tenant-to-tenant migrations
  • Assist with migration planning, content analysis, document library, site, and dependency migration, and support cutover, post-migration validation, and stabilization
  • Support modernizing legacy SharePoint customizations into modern solutions for SharePoint, Teams, and Power Platform
  • Integrate Microsoft 365 services with enterprise systems, including identity platforms like Microsoft Entra ID and Azure AD
  • Support application governance, lifecycle management, and enterprise security and compliance standards
  • Support enterprise identity integrations, including Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD, and Single Sign-On (SSO)
  • Assist business teams and developers with site provisioning, environment setup, and governance standards

Requirements

  • Active public trust and/or DOT onboarding is a strong plus
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience designing and supporting SharePoint and collaboration platforms in production environments
  • Proven expertise administering and supporting Microsoft 365: SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 Groups
  • Hands-on experience with governance, permissions, and lifecycle management
  • Extensive experience with Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI
  • Experience supporting migrations (on-prem SharePoint to SharePoint Online and tenant-to-tenant)
  • Proficiency with PowerShell for SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 administration
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills; able to work independently and across teams
  • Basic working knowledge of Google Workspace collaboration tools such as Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Meet
  • Nice-to-have: Experience at scale with Power Platform, enterprise workflows, Azure, custom app integration, and security best practices
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-700, PL-900/PL-100/PL-400, SC-400, MS-102) - optional
