Job description

Everforth ECS is seeking a Cloud Platform/Automation Engineer to work in the National Capital Region covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP focuses on operational warfighting data and aims to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. The WDP extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, and supports collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
• This position develops and automates cloud platform workflows supporting WDP Core Integration modernization objectives by implementing standardized provisioning, access-management automations, and cross-enclave integration patterns across IL2, IL5, IL6, and JWICS environments.
• Develops and automates cloud platform workflows supporting WDP Core Integration modernization objectives by implementing standardized provisioning, access-management automations, and cross-enclave integration patterns across IL2, IL5, IL6, and JWICS environments.
• Builds infrastructure tooling using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, AWS Systems Manager, and event-driven orchestration pipelines to automate standard allocations, privileged-access workflows, and identity-lifecycle tasks aligned with Government-approved processes and mission-readiness requirements.
• Integrates automation capabilities with enterprise services such as Active Directory, IAM, Key Management Service, and cross-domain transfer mechanisms to streamline onboarding, account maintenance, resource allocation, and access-policy updates for Combatant Command, Joint Staff, and Senior Executive Service mission users.
• Designs reusable modules, parameterized templates, and cloud-service interfaces that improve reliability, reduce manual touchpoints, and support high-volume onboarding and request-fulfillment patterns documented within User Support modernization deliverables.
• Builds dashboards using CloudWatch, Grafana, and QuickSight to measure automation throughput, provisioning accuracy, latency reductions, and SLA performance for automated service workflows.
• Produces deliverables including automation design specifications, runbooks, cloud integration diagrams, testing artifacts, and modernization impact reports supporting continuous-improvement efforts.
• Collaborates with platform engineers, cybersecurity teams, and analytics personnel to refine automation logic, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve operational efficiency across all support tiers while strengthening resilience, accelerating service delivery, and advancing cloud capability maturity across the WDP Core Integration enterprise.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
• 3-10 years of experience developing and automating cloud platform workflows for secured military or intelligence programs.
• Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, AWS Systems Manager, and event-driven orchestration pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
• Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).
