Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE
The CBRE Platform Account Management Director leads the Account Management function for a portfolio of broker-supported corporate occupier accounts in Los Angeles. This role is responsible for managing and developing a team of Account Management professionals, serving as a subject matter resource for broker partners and clients, and maintaining consistent, high-quality program delivery across the portfolio.
The position requires a strong operational leader with substantive knowledge of corporate real estate and account management - someone who can develop people, uphold program standards, and build effective working relationships with broker partners and client contacts over time. This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles or San Francisco, California.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage and develop the Account Management team. Lead a team of Account Management professionals by setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular coaching and feedback sessions, and managing performance formally and informally. Support the professional development and career growth of team members and maintain a team environment grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support broker partners in managing corporate occupier accounts. Work closely with CBRE broker partners to support account delivery, understand client program needs, and ensure the Account Management team is providing the appropriate level of service across the portfolio. Develop the working relationships and operational alignment that allow broker partners and Account Management to function effectively together.
  • Monitor and maintain account health across the portfolio. Track the status and performance of accounts on an ongoing basis, identifying risks and service gaps early. Coordinate team resources to address issues proactively and ensure program deliverables remain on track across all active accounts.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for the team and for clients. Provide expertise in Account Management, occupier services, and corporate real estate program delivery. Support team members in navigating complex situations and serve as a knowledgeable, accessible resource for client contacts who require depth and guidance on their real estate programs.
  • Drive team performance accountability and delivery consistency. Establish and maintain clear performance standards, operating processes, and quality benchmarks for the team. Track performance against established metrics, identify gaps, and develop actionable remediation plans. Ensure the team operates with consistency and professionalism across all accounts.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with client contacts. Develop and sustain effective relationships with corporate real estate professionals at client organizations. Communicate proactively, understand their program priorities, and ensure client-facing deliverables consistently reflect CBRE's service standards.
  • Support the team with resources and remove operational barriers. Identify internal obstacles that affect team performance and work to resolve them. Help team members navigate internal processes, tools, and support functions so they remain focused on the needs of clients and broker partners.
  • Manage account reporting and program performance data. Maintain accurate and timely reporting across the account portfolio. Ensure clients and broker partners have clear visibility into program performance and that reporting accurately reflects Account Management's activity and contribution.
  • Assess and resolve operational and team challenges. Identify operational, procedural, or people-related issues within the team or portfolio and address them with sound judgment and practical solutions. Maintain a stable and focused team environment through periods of complexity or organizational change.
  • Identify and implement process improvements. Continuously evaluate how the team operates and where improvements can be made. Bring a practitioner's perspective to workflow, tools, and standards, and implement better methods across the portfolio as they are identified.
  • Model CBRE RISE values and maintain team standards. Uphold CBRE's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence in all professional interactions. Set clear expectations for conduct and performance and maintain a team culture that reflects those standards consistently.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of relevant experience in account management, corporate real estate, or occupier services. A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Real Estate Salesperson license required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing professionals, including performance management, coaching, and hiring.
  • Substantive knowledge of account management, occupier services, and corporate real estate program delivery.
  • Effective relationship-building skills - credible, accessible, and able to develop productive working partnerships with broker partners, clients, and team members.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and team responsibilities concurrently.
  • Sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills across operational and interpersonal situations.
  • Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to deliver direct feedback, navigate difficult conversations, and represent the team appropriately in all settings.
  • Comfort interpreting performance data, financial reports, and program metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with CRM and account management platforms preferred.
  • A consistent focus on process improvement and program delivery quality.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
