Responsibilities include:
• Direct and coordinate activities of a cross-functional team for the quotation, design, development, and launch for:
  • Product Life-Cycle changes
  • New product development & launch (NPI)

• Assure that projects are completed on time, to budget, and meet customer expectations.
• Support life cycle management (LCM) review initiatives on all products.
• Lead efforts to resolve all technical issues related to design, performance, compliance, manufacturability, and/or quality.
• Analyze and provide technical input to product designs, manufacturing methods, validation plans, and component designs. Components typically include injection molded plastic parts, die cast parts, stampings, and machined parts.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers as well as internal Sales & Marketing personnel.
• Analyze technology trends and integrate latest technology into Truck-Lite products in conjunction with the Design group to ensure that Truck-Lite maintains its competitive advantage and status as the preferred supplier of lighting and visibility products.
• Evaluate and resolve manufacturing and performance issues with Manufacturing and Quality Departments to reduce potential NCR's and field issues, and to avoid customer dissatisfaction.
• Assure that new products are developed and documented in accordance with internal NPI (New Product Introduction) procedures as well as TS16949 requirements.
• Lead efforts to develop product specifications / definitions in conjunction with customers and sales personnel.
• Direct and coordinate activities of a cross-functional engineering team to complete new product quotations and develop capital budgets.
• Assist with Corporate productivity improvement projects and the timely achievement of engineering productivity goals.
• Position requires compliance with the Technology Control Plan and the Federal Export Control Policy established for the Corporation.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT(S):
• 4-year engineering degree in any of the following disciplines: Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering. Candidates with other technical degrees will be considered based on relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):
  • 4+ years of project management experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or other project management software tools
  • Understanding of quality management, data analysis, and root cause analysis
  • Understanding of supply chain, manufacturing operations, and material processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team
  • Ability to work across a matrix organization, manage stakeholder communication, identify roadblocks, and project manage issues to resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple large-scale projects at the same time
  • Understanding of commercial, technical, and financial disciplines
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Strong relationship building and conflict resolution skills
