Production Machine Operator

What You'll Be Doing as a Production Machine Operator:

  • Responsible for monitoring production on the assigned extrusion line
  • Perform continuous checks for:
  • Tape or tube printing for correct product size and date coding
  • Creases on tape or tubing
  • Water marks
  • Pock marks or air marks
  • Drill-outs
  • Drill hole locations
  • Coil length settings
  • Ampacet 19975 levels
  • Visually inspect finished coils according to quality control specifications:
  • Check for welding/clogging at the end of every coil and during line startup
  • Verify single spacing at the end of every coil and during line startup
  • Verify ten-spacing every five coils
  • Compare actual coil weight to specified coil weight for every coil
  • Check wall thickness at the end of every coil and during line startup
  • Check pipe I.D. at the end of every coil and during line startup
  • Verify printing quality and status
  • Collect samples for flow testing every five coils
  • Monitor continuously for blowouts and material defects
  • Continuously monitor for alarms
  • Packaging and Material Handling:
  • Wrap and label finished coils with plastic stretch wrap. Stack 16 coils per pallet for TW and 20 coils per pallet for HW
  • Move full pallets to the staging area in coordination with the logistics operator
  • Ensure drippers are transferred from the dripper staging area to the assigned line
  • Fill drippers as needed and inspect for smashed, short-shot, bent, or otherwise defective drippers
  • Equipment and Process Maintenance:
  • Collect bone scrap and place it in the designated box throughout the shift
  • Clean and wipe the bowl feeder and remove dust and dirt from its cover
  • Check Ampacet 19975 levels every hour and ensure the suction pipe is properly positioned in the box
  • Carefully remove dust from the water vacuum lid cover
  • Check the cooling water tank level and refill as necessary
  • In cooperation with the supervisor, clean the water tank of floating dirt, drippers, and other debris using a pool leaf net
  • Spend time monitoring the strobe light for drill-outs, missing drills, capping, and blowouts. Follow alarm procedures if any alarms are detected
  • Scrap and Coil Management:
  • Cut scrap coils into the designated box or sack, collect and weigh bone scrap, and report the weight to the supervisor
  • Ensure proper labeling and transfer of partial coils to the welding area
  • Make bobbins during the assigned shift and in preparation for the next shift
  • Match partial coils for any tight coils produced
  • Weld two tight coils together to create one acceptable coil
  • Communication and Housekeeping:
  • Communicate work status to incoming and outgoing operators at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Clean the work area, from the bowl feeder area to the coiler
  • Clean the stretch-wrap machine area
  • Dispose of trash and garbage from the assigned line
  • Collect all drippers from the floor and place them in the spent drippers box or Gaylord container
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow all safety, quality, and productivity requirements
  • Wear all required PPE at all times

Available Shifts:

Shift timings- 1st Shift (Day), 3rd Shift (Night)

Weekends

Job Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
  • 1+ year of experience in extrusion, manufacturing, production, or a similar industrial environment preferred
  • Experience operating or monitoring extrusion lines, production machinery, or manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform continuous quality inspections
  • Ability to identify product defects such as creases, water marks, air/pock marks, drill-outs, blow-outs, material marks, capping, and welding/clogging
  • Ability to perform and record quality checks, measurements, weights, and production specifications
  • Comfortable working with gauges, scales, production equipment, alarms, and quality-control tools
  • Ability to package, label, wrap, and palletize finished products according to specifications
  • Ability to operate or work around coilers, bowl feeders, stretch-wrap machines, and extrusion equipment
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks and remain focused while continuously monitoring production
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials, coils, boxes, and production supplies
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate production status during shift changes
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, safety procedures, quality standards, and productivity requirements
  • Must be willing to wear all required PPE and follow all workplace safety guidelines
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be comfortable performing cleaning, scrap collection, material handling, and other general production duties as needed
  • Background check and drug test required
