The position supports both new product development and sustaining engineering activities, with specific focus on injection-molded connector components, TPU/TPE over-molded parts, and low-pressure molded interim shot tooling.ย

Essential Functions:ย

  • Lead and manage an internal tool shop with toolmakers and mold design engineers on staff.ย
  • Lead DFM review on new product designs, identifying draft requirements, parting lines, undercuts, shut-offs, wall transitions, and tooling risks.ย
  • Design and/or review injection molds for medical connector components, over-molded strain reliefs, and cable assemblies.ย
  • Support tooling concepts including gating, venting, cooling, steel conditions, surface finishes, slides, lifters, and other mold actions.
  • Partner with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable, robust, and cost-effective.ย
  • Interface with external domestic and offshore mold shops during tool design, build, debug, and qualification.ย
  • Assist sustaining engineering teams with tooling-related issues, yield improvements, and design updates.

  • Working proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD software.ย
  • Ability to conduct effective DFM and tooling feasibility reviews with engineering and suppliers.ย
  • Strong background in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.ย
  • Experience working with global manufacturing partners.ย
