American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Oncology Clinic position requiring a CT or compact RN license and 2 years of oncology or surgical experience.
Job Details
• Outpatient Oncology Clinic setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center,
• Cares for Breast Oncology, Breast Surgery, and Plastic Surgery patients,
• Day shift schedule (4x10 Hours), 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Duties include telephone triage, in-basket management, and assisting providers during clinic visits,
• Manages both new and returning patient visits including pre-op/post-op teaching,
Job Requirements
• Active CT or Compact RN license required (CT license processing takes 15-21 business days, so candidates must apply prior to submission),
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I Trauma or travel experience),
• Surgical experience required,
• BLS certification required,
• Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC) and OCN certifications preferred,
• Prior experience with cytotoxic therapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy preferred,
• Skilled in recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis) preferred,
• Experience with symptom management and psychosocial care for oncology patients preferred,
• Care experience across multiple cancer types (breast, lung, colorectal, and others) preferred,
• Epic charting system experience required,
• Level I Trauma Center experience at a large facility required,
• 1 professional reference required for consideration,
Additional Information
• Provide comprehensive oncology nursing care including care coordination, wound care, and neutropenic precautions,
• Support patients and families with education, advanced directives discussions, and hospice care as needed,
• Royal blue scrub color required,
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted,
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only,
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be eligible for travel rate; local candidates not accepted,
• Former staff members must have a 2-year gap in employment before returning as a traveler,
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved,
• Travelers must be willing to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
