Physician Assistant, Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics

Pincus Plastic Surgery | Smithtown, New York

Full-Time | Monday through Friday

Pincus Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced, polished, and highly motivated Physician Assistant to work closely alongside Dr. David J. Pincus, MD, FACS, and our surgical and aesthetic team in Smithtown, New York. This is a full-time, hands-on clinical position for a PA who wants to be deeply involved in the complete plastic surgery patient experience, including consultations, pre-operative care, operating room support, post-operative management, aesthetic treatments, and long-term patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly alongside Dr. Pincus in the operating room and throughout the clinical week.
  • Assist with plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures.
  • Conduct patient evaluations, histories, examinations, and clinical documentation.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
  • Provide wound care, suture and drain management, dressing changes, and post-surgical follow-up.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, recovery, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Order and review appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies within scope of practice.
  • Coordinate closely with surgeons, nurses, medical assistants, anesthesia providers, and administrative staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Support both aesthetic and insurance-based surgical patients.
  • Assist with minor procedures performed in the office.
  • Perform aesthetic injectable treatments when appropriately trained and credentialed.
  • Help maintain the high clinical, safety, service, and aesthetic standards of Pincus Plastic Surgery.
  • Participate in occasional travel to our Boca Raton, Florida, office is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted New York State Physician Assistant license.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Current BLS certification, ACLS preferred.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, dermatology, surgical, or aesthetic medicine experience strongly preferred.
  • Operating room and perioperative experience preferred.
  • Injectable experience preferred, including neuromodulators and dermal fillers.
  • Strong understanding of surgical patient care and post-operative management.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-touch private practice environment.
  • Professional, polished presentation consistent with an elevated aesthetic medical practice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on exceptional patient care and experience.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with scheduling based on surgical, clinical, and patient-care needs.

Compensation & Benefits:

Annual salary of $120,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience, plus bonus eligibility and benefits eligibility.
