Job description

Seda North America is seeking a Mechanic- Plastics for 2nd shift to join our team!

Seda North America is an air conditioned, exceptionally clean facility that designs and produces innovative paper packaging solutions, which include unique insulated coffee cups and food industry containers. You will be operating high-speed production equipment to manufacture the cups and containers while meeting customer standards for quality, efficiency and safety.

Pay based on experience plus a $1.00/hr shift premium.

Specific Duties:

  • Repair or adjust equipment, machines, or defective components, replacing worn parts.
  • Maintain and inspect various production tooling sets offline to ensure proper function during production runs.
  • Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment inefficiencies, downtime, or machine failures; Determine root cause and corrective actions needed
  • Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures
  • Work as a team with the operators to evaluate work orders and detect equipment problems

Qualifications/ Physical Demands:

  • 3+ years of experience in similar role in plastics industry strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of plastics manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes, such as extrusion, thermoforming, blow molding, or injection molding
  • Strong fault finding and problem solving.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or other certification a plus
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50lb weight unassisted and remain on feet standing and walking for 8-hour shift
