DMI is a locally owned and operated machine shop serving regional and international customers. We specialize in high-tolerance precision machining and production manufacturing. Our team supports a wide range of projects, including individual parts, assemblies, and jobs requiring additional finishing services such as plating, anodizing, powder coating, laser engraving, sheet metal, and plastic molding.

Job Summary

DMI is seeking a dependable and motivated Machine Operator / Manufacturing Technician to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating production equipment, handling materials, monitoring processes, performing quality checks, and maintaining safe and efficient work practices.

Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.

Compensation

$20–$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Load and unload parts and materials safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic quality checks.
  • Identify and report equipment or production issues.
  • Assist with machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate production records as needed.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using hand tools, measuring tools, or basic inspection equipment.
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus.
  • Technical school training, trade certification, or apprenticeship experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a production environment with quality and safety standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
