We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tooling Technicianย to join this Injection Molding company based in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of our plastic molds and hot systems. This role requires a strong understanding of toolroom equipment, a keen eye for troubleshooting, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Uphold and promote all company safety rules and standard operating procedures, acting as a positive role model for other employees.
  • Conduct proactive troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair on a variety of plastic molds and hot systems.
  • Operate and maintain a range of manual toolroom machines, including mills, surface grinders, and lathes, to perform precision mold work.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of replacement parts and tooling to ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with our internal new tooling group to support specific mold-related operations and projects.
  • Utilize toolroom inspection equipment to verify part and mold specifications.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned to support overall shop floor operations.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required. Preference will be given to candidates with an accredited two-year technical college degree in a related field or a state-certified journeyman card in a tool and die apprenticeship.
  • Five to seven years of hands-on tooling or mold construction experience, or a combination of relevant on-the-job training, education, and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in general machining, tool building, and mold maintenance, with additional classroom training as a plus.
  • Proven expertise in repairing and performing preventative maintenance on molds.
  • Proficiency in operating and setting up toolroom equipment such as mills, surface grinders, and lathes.
  • Prior experience working with hot runner systems is preferred.
  • A foundational understanding of mold building and the injection molding process is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
