Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

VHMC/Valleywise Health Medical Center: Phoenix, Arizona

District Medical Group (DMG), one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in Metropolitan Phoenix, has an immediate practice opportunity for a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon.

The Surgery Department staffs Valleywise Health System (VHS) at Valleywise Health Medical Center (VHMC), which is a 270-bed academic community hospital and designated ACS and State of Arizona Level I Adult Trauma/Level I Burn Center. VHMC is an urban teaching hospital with a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency, and the Plastic Surgery Division also hosts resident rotators from the Mayo Clinic Plastic Surgery Residency. DMG is a faculty partner in the Creighton University Medical School educational alliance. DMG surgeons operate and round at a new VHMC hospital facility that opened in 2024.

The successful candidate must have completed Plastic Surgery residency training and be board certified or board eligible. Previous faculty experience in an academic environment is preferred. The candidate should be comfortable managing the full range of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery patients. Expertise with Maxillofacial Trauma and Microvascular surgery is required.

Seeking a plastic surgeon to join four existing plastic surgeons in the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery, this position will provide inpatient and outpatient general plastic and reconstructive surgery services in the elective and emergent care settings, sharing call coverage, and teaching residents. The candidate should be comfortable with a team approach for patient management. The candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in collaborative research activities and refining and extending existing plastic surgery services
