Job Description
Shift: This is a 12 hour alternating night shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
Scheduled to work 7 days during a 14-day period (2 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off). Every other weekend is scheduled off.)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Molding Operator - DMT I reports directly to an assigned Operations Leader. They handle materials, conduct light product inspections, and perform housekeeping for assigned molding machines. They supply downstream equipment with quality molded components and ask technicians for help with any issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Packaging, labeling, and handling of product and movement to specified locations.
  • Perform limited product visual and Manual inspections.
  • Learn and maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of all products produced in the department, as well as all product quality specifications.
  • Keep machinery, work area and floors neat and orderly and follow good manufacturing practices requirements.
  • Work optimally in a team with limited supervision.
  • Understand and interpret controlled documents including work Instructions, procedures, and inspection forms.
  • Advise CILL, and DMT II's of any equipment issues.
  • Work with molding team members to keep equipment running during breaks and callouts.
  • Follow all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • HS/GED degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Prefer, but not limited to 0-1 years of experience working within a production setting, preferably injection molding presses (both electric & hydraulic).

  • This position is in a clean room or laboratory manufacturing environment and the physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • The role may frequently require standing and/or occasionally sitting for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required. While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to episodes of walking, pushing/pulling, repetitive grasping, hearing, twisting, lifting, frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type which can include repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers.
  • The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift to 20 lbs., frequently lift up to 10 lbs., occasionally pulling/pushing up to 30 lbs., frequently pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs., frequently carry up to 5 lbs.
  • The position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment, and potential temperature fluctuations.
  • Occasionally the position will have exposure to fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, cleaning compounds and solvents.
  • The incumbent may be exposed to noise levels in the work environment moderate to loud.
  • Employees must have normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye and must have hearing sufficient to safely operate material handling equipment in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
  • The incumbent must be willing and able to wear required PPE such as, safety glasses, face mask and/or shield, hearing protection, safety shoes, hair and beard net and smock.
