Process Engineer – Plastics Injection Molding

Location: Austin, TX | Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a hands-on Process Engineer with plastic injection experience to join our team in Austin. You will optimize equipment performance, reduce cycle times, and control material usage in advanced manufacturing cells. This is a high-impact, problem-solving role balancing technical data with floor-level execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Resolve complex process, mold, and material defects beyond the scope of floor technicians.

  • Process Optimization: Audit and refine injection molding parameters to maximize efficiency and ensure premium part quality.

  • Engineering Methodologies: Apply structured problem-solving tools like Design of Experiments (DOE) and capability studies to eliminate production variances.

  • Mentorship & Training: Provide technical leadership and training to production teams regarding advanced robotics, automated assembly, and molding processes.

  • Documentation: Read tooling prints to create and update rigorous standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

  • Plant Support: Support off-shift operations when critical processing challenges arise to keep the facility running smoothly.

  • Safety: Ensure strict compliance with OSHA guidelines and appropriate manufacturing floor safety attire.

Note: This role requires technical expertise in plastics processing. General manufacturing applicants without injection molding experience will not be considered.
