About the Role

Keep injection molding processes running safely, consistently, and efficiently.

As an Injection Mold Process Technician (Internal Title: Setup Technician) on 3rd shift, you will set up and start injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment, monitor product quality and press-cycle performance, make approved process adjustments, and troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and processing concerns.

This is an experienced, hands-on technical role for someone who understands plastic injection molding and can independently respond to production issues. Your work will directly support product quality, equipment reliability, process efficiency, and production performance.

What You Will Do
  • Set up and start injection molding presses and related auxiliary equipment

  • Perform startup operations on grinders, dryers, and other material-processing equipment

  • Monitor press-cycle times, process conditions, and equipment performance

  • Complete visual quality checks and identify product or process concerns

  • Make approved processing adjustments to improve quality, efficiency, and consistency

  • Document process changes, adjustments, problems, and corrective actions accurately

  • Notify Quality when process changes may require dimensional re-verification or updated visual criteria

  • Troubleshoot injection molding processes, equipment, and tooling

  • Test and inspect equipment to verify safe and efficient operation

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, shop orders, and production documentation

  • Complete production, process, quality, and equipment records accurately

  • Operate powered industrial equipment when trained and authorized

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least three years of experience in a plastic injection molding facility

  • Experience setting up, starting, and troubleshooting injection molding equipment

  • Experience supporting basic equipment or machinery maintenance

  • Working knowledge of injection molding processes and mechanical systems

  • Ability to make process and equipment adjustments within approved standards

  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering specifications, shop orders, and detailed work instructions

  • Ability to complete process, production, and quality documentation accurately

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other technicians

  • Ability to work the full 3rd-shift schedule onsite in Menomonee Falls

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent training in plastics processing, industrial technology, mechanical systems, or a related field

  • Technical certification or coursework related to injection molding or industrial systems

  • Experience using powered industrial equipment

  • Current powered industrial equipment certification

  • Experience training or mentoring other production or technical employees

Schedule and Work Environment

This is an onsite, 3rd-shift position performed in a plastic injection molding manufacturing facility.

The role regularly works around injection molding presses, tooling, grinders, dryers, auxiliary systems, and powered industrial equipment.

Physical Requirements
  • Use hands and fingers to operate tools, controls, and equipment

  • Maintain the manual dexterity required to handle small components and complete equipment adjustments
