Job description

We are seeking a Molding Process Technician to join our team at our Franklin, TN manufacturing facility. The Molding Process Technician is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing injection molding processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role supports manufacturing operations through process monitoring, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and collaboration with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set up, start up, troubleshoot, and monitor injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Make machine adjustments, including injection pressure and cycle time modifications, to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot molding and process-related issues.
  • Inspect products for dimensional and surface defects.
  • Support mold changes and ensure proper startup procedures.
  • Monitor production systems for machine stoppages, downtime, cycle deviations, and mold changes.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis for quality and production issues.
  • Record scrap and production data accurately in the monitoring system.
  • Communicate process, quality, and safety concerns to supervisors and incoming shifts.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to minimize downtime and improve performance.
  • Occasionally support department leadership in the absence of the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical education or Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Injection Molding Technician experience preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and setting up injection molding equipment.
  • Knowledge of robotic systems and auxiliary equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with different plastic materials and injection molding processes.
  • Experience with Milacron injection molding equipment is a plus.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands, tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment exposed to noise, dust, odors, and production equipment.

Available Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Overtime and weekends may be required based on production needs.
