Job description

Production Manager - Plastic Injection Molding

Are you a hands-on manufacturing leader with deep plastic injection molding experience? Our client, a well-established manufacturer in the Auburn area, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations within a high-volume plastic injection molding environment.
This is not a general manufacturing management position. Candidates must have direct experience managing production operations in a plastic injection molding facility and understand the unique challenges of molding processes, production scheduling, quality, tooling, staffing, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day production operations within a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment
• Manage production schedules to meet customer demand, quality standards, and delivery commitments
• Drive safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency initiatives throughout the operation
• Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and manufacturing teams
• Partner with maintenance, quality, engineering, tooling, and supply chain teams to support operational goals
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce waste
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and manufacturing best practices
• Support workforce planning, employee development, and performance management activities

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Plant Manager, or similar leadership role

• Required: Direct plastic injection molding manufacturing experience

• Strong understanding of molding processes, production flow, quality systems, and manufacturing operations
• Experience leading teams in a fast-paced production environment
• Proven ability to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational performance
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with manufacturing metrics, production reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience
• Background working closely with tooling, engineering, and maintenance teams
• ERP or manufacturing software experience
