Job description

Mold Maintenance Technician
Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a leading plastics manufacturer, is seeking a Mold Maintenance Technician to join their team! This role is responsible for maintaining plastic injection molds to ensure they are clean, functional, and ready for production.
Mold Maintenance Technician Job Summary:
  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly of plastic injection molds
  • Ensure molds are properly prepared to meet production requirements
  • Work closely with the Team Lead on production scheduling needs
  • Maintain accurate mold records (cycles, specifications, etc.)
  • Organize mold storage racks, cabinets, and location tracking systems
  • Troubleshoot mold and tooling issues
  • Use calipers, tape measures, precision gauges, and other tools to ensure tight tolerances (.001)
  • Operate grinders, drills, and various hand tools for repair and maintenance
  • Order new and replacement tooling as needed
  • Serve as backup for quality control checks during production
  • Follow all 5S procedures
  • Provide coverage for production operations during breaks and lunches
  • Must be available for overtime, including weekends as needed
Mold Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
  • Prior manufacturing or factory experience preferred
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English
  • Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
  • Willingness to attend training on plastic injection mold technology (including hot runner systems)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to train others as needed
  • Must obtain or possess forklift and overhead crane certification
Working Conditions:
  • Warm and humid plant environment near injection molding equipment
  • Exposure to grease, oil, heat, noise, and occasional fumes
  • Required PPE: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, long pants, hard hat (as needed)
  • Work performed around forklifts, conveyors, and heavy machinery
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, grasping, and reaching
  • Occasional ladder climbing
  • Ability to push and pull molds up to approximately 500 lbs.
