Job description

Position Summary:
Milacron is looking for a Director, Extrusion Engineering & Technology to join our team in Batavia, OH. This role is responsible for leading a diverse, global engineering organization across the United States and India. The Director will oversee mechanical and electrical machine design engineers supporting the extrusion equipment business, as well as production engineering support for the aftermarket organization. The scope also includes leadership of subject matter experts in screw design and die head design, along with overall responsibility for the New Product Development (NPD) engineering team.
Relocation assistance may be available for candidates who reside outside of the Greater Cincinnati area.
Work You'll Do:
  • Lead and develop local and remote engineering teams across the U.S. and India, setting clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing multicultural team environment while working independently to solve complex technical challenges
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Service, Strategic Marketing, Product Management, and other cross-functional teams to deliver aligned engineering solutions
  • Serve as the global technical leader for the Extrusion business, including customer-facing engagement and global travel as required
  • Maintain deep technical expertise in counter-rotating twin and single-screw extruder technologies and related subsystems
  • Apply strong understanding of cross-functional business processes and financial principles, including P&L review, product cost, and profitability assessment
  • Take a forward-looking approach to product design to reduce cost, increase value, and improve competitiveness
  • Develop, propose, and implement solutions to complex engineering and business problems
  • Drive alignment and harmonization of engineering processes across functions
  • Explore, develop, and implement new technologies and external partnerships that support growth, profitability, and competitive advantage
  • Develop and grow talent through mentoring, coaching, and stretch assignments
  • Demonstrate Milacron values consistently while taking full accountability for personal and team deliverables

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; MBA or advanced business degree preferred
  • Proven experience with plastic extrusion processing and/or extrusion machinery
  • Successful leadership across multiple product design and development cycles
  • Working knowledge of Stage Gate / Phase Gate New Product Development processes
  • Experience applying Design-to-Value (DTV) and Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) methodologies
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes, including machining, heat treatment, fabrication, and additive manufacturing
  • Proficiency with engineering design and analysis tools such as Creo/PDM, Windchill, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, ANSYS, and CFD software
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and enterprise engineering data environments
  • Ability to travel globally 20% of the time
