Facilities Technician II at TSI

With minimal supervision, performs building and grounds maintenance services and repairs across multiple skill areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, minor electrical repairs and installations, and routine HVAC maintenance.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain building equipment, systems, environment, and grounds by proactively identifying problem areas and taking appropriate corrective action, including replacing or repairing parts, or escalating repair needs to the supervisor.
  • Perform minor plumbing work, including replacing fixtures and worn components, clearing clogged drains, and soldering broken or damaged pipes.
  • Perform electrical wiring to install pumps and motors; replace fixtures, light bulbs, and fuses; and service the ESD electrostatic grounding system in assembly areas.
  • Patch or replace plaster or plaster board, paint walls, ceilings and trim.
  • Set up and break down tables and chairs for special events. Assemble and maintain work tables, benches, shelves, and other furnishings. Relocate office furniture, file cabinets, and fixtures as needed. Maintain building exteriors, including mowing lawns, trimming shrubbery, clearing snow and debris from sidewalks, and upgrading landscaping as required.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machine tools to fabricate or repair parts and equipment.
  • Install, adjust, or relocate mechanical equipment and conduct minor troubleshooting as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance services on HVAC equipment, including filter changes.
  • Operate a forklift and a powered lift for various facility applications and repairs.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.
  • Utilize the Faciliworks system to manage and track preventive maintenance activities.

What Do You Need?

Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Desired

  • Experience using computers for job scheduling and parts monitoring.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.

Equipment to be Used:

Must be able to:

  • Use standard office equipment such as copier, fax, telephone, postage, etc.
  • Operate computer and other electronic equipment.
  • Use hand and electric power tools and shop tools.
  • Operate fork truck and power lift truck, lawn tractor, snow blowers and powered lawn equipment.

This is a full-time position, and work days are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires long hours, weeknight and weekend on call as needed.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $55,000 - $65,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
