Position Summary, General Optimization of Dielectric and Silicon Etch Recipes Co-op

This internship position is based in Rochester, NY and will support process development activities focused on the optimization of dielectric and silicon etch processes used in semiconductor manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and optimization of dielectric and silicon etch recipes for semiconductor device fabrication.
• Support the execution of process experiments using plasma etch equipment and related characterization tools.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process and metrology data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with process engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot process issues and improve manufacturing performance.
• Monitor key process metrics including etch rate, selectivity, critical dimension control, uniformity, and defectivity.
• Maintain accurate records of process development activities and experimental results.

Minimum Qualifications, General Optimization of Dielectric and Silicon Etch Recipes Co-op

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and cleanroom environments through coursework, laboratory experience, or research projects.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom setting and comply with all safety and operational procedures.

This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check.

Salary Range: $25.00/per hour

*Posted salary ranges re determined upon experience and education.
