Position Title: Fragrance Quality Control Chemist (Fragrance Industry Experience Required)

Location: Deerfield Beach, FL
Reports To: Global Quality and Regulatory Director
FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Description

The Fragrance Quality Control Chemist is responsible for evaluating fragrance raw materials, fragrance compounds, and finished fragrance products to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications. This role performs organoleptic (odor) evaluations and analytical testing, including GC and GC-MS analysis, and partners closely with Perfumery, Regulatory, and Production teams to support fragrance quality and consistency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform quality evaluations of raw materials, compounded products, and finished goods.
  • Conduct odor, color, physical, and analytical testing, including GC-MS analysis.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and quality documentation.
  • Enter quality data and material disposition decisions into SAP QM.
  • Investigate and assist with the evaluation of non-conforming materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Support ISO 9001 quality system requirements and documentation.
  • Assist with laboratory projects, data collection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Production, Perfumery, Regulatory, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct organoleptic evaluation of fragrance raw materials and fragrance compounds to verify odor quality and conformity to standards.
  • Perform fragrance matching and comparison against approved standards and retain samples.
  • Utilize GC and GC-MS instrumentation to support fragrance quality investigations and product evaluation.
  • Assist in the investigation of fragrance-related quality issues, including odor deviations and analytical discrepancies.
  • Work closely with Perfumers and Fragrance Development teams to maintain fragrance quality standards.
